Mother's day in church

Mother's day is one of the most difficult days for me in the year. Each year in church they are praying for the moms and I feel so left out. Last year they had little kids stand at the door asking every woman whether she was a mother and handing little presents to the moms. It was super hard last year and all I could do was shake my head and start crying. How much do I wish and desire to be a mother.

Mother's day is a little bit like Christmas. Every year I wonder whether this is finally the last Christmas that my hubby and I spend alone. It is the same with mother's day.

Today at church I managed to sneak out at the other door and nobody asked me whether I was a mom. My hubby was very cute. He said that I am in the process of being one. He crafted little paper chains for us with the due date and our departure date. Each week we can rip one ring of. 13 more until baby is born. Our baby? I wish I knew.

I know church can be difficult for people in your situation. I opted not to go this year for that very reason. It was just so hard last year I decided not to participate this year. THe paper chain thing seems like a nice way for you to participate without actually being there. That is a very special thing between you and your husband and it was very sweet of him to come up with it.

Hi, I read your comment on my blog so I thought I would pop on over to yours. :) This post struck me. I know how you feel. It is very difficult to have the reminder shoved in your face like that.

My hubby bought me a t-shirt last year that reads, "Pregnant on Paper". It's hard even when you choose adoption to realize that although I am now a Mother, I still am not given the same considerations.

Today I realized that I will never get to watch my hubby load up a hospital cart with flowers and balloons sent to us to celebrate a new child to our family. I have two kids so far and one due this August but I can't imagine it will be the same for me as a bio Mom. Sorry if this is a downer. I didn't mean for it to be. I look forward to getting to know you! :)
